My Lady Mage A Warriors of the Mist Novel Alexis Morgan Books

I wasn't very impressed with this story, and at 7.99 (no discount for Kindle) I don't think it's worth it. I love Morgan's "The Paladins" series but this story was mostly about the strategies of war and saying people were falling in love (vs. showing it)--I didn't really believe it. If Morgan had provided more depth to the characters it would have been better.

It ended with the five warriors (and their animal avatars--which are a clever concept, but for all I know she borrowed this idea from a Greek myth or something) defeating something like 50 armed men, hmmm, even with their God-given extra strength this is a bit hard to believe. There are a lot of unfinished details and the end of the book winds up too quickly. I didn't really care about any of the warriors except maybe Kane.

Spoiler alert: We don't know if the warriors will be allowed to stay past their 3 months, or if they've finally satisfied their commitment to the Lady and Lord of the River to be released to a peaceful death, or if they'll be allowed to live out their life now, or whether Merewen is pregnant, or if the Duke is still planning to sacrifice Merewen and Alina. It just sort of stopped after Merewen and Gideon professed their love to each other.

The style of writing was very good
Enjoyed this most of all Alexis Morgan's books! She captures a new world and my heart with her characters, their animals and the story. A few typos but they're expected and easily ignored when the writing is so excellent!
My only regret is the length of time before the 2nd book is out )
I liked it.
Have read the set an would recommend to any that enjoys this era, will certainly look at reading some more of her books
Excellent reading
Unfortunately this book was a complete flop for me. It wasn't well written, the world wasn't built well, the writing was just off. Merewen's character is a contradiction and the warriors are anything but mighty. I've not read anything by this author before, but the writing is very weak, the story is very weak, and in some areas doesn't quite connect very well. This seems like a book written by someone who's never written anything before and seemed very amateurish. I wouldn't even consider this an adult book, I would consider it young adult at best. Everything was tame, way too tame. Disappointing...
Alexis knows how to tell a story to keep her reader riveted from beginning to end. All three of the books in this Trilogy are worth reading. I just wish there was another story following. I didn't want it to end. Her characters are strong, vivid and remember able to the extent that you wonder what they are up too when you not reading the book....are they okay...what is the next move....and so on. I really liked the series.
